Compounding pharmacies prepare high-quality, tailored prescriptions to meet a specific therapeutic need, often enhancing patients’ quality of life.
Congratulations to #TTUHSCSOP alumnus Shawn E. Hodges, PharmD, on recently being named a 2021-2022 School of Pharmacy Distinguished Alumni.
The TTUHSC Alumni Association honored Dr. Hodge’s accomplishments and contributions by presenting him with the Pharmacy Leadership Award at a ceremony held on Oct. 21.
Dr. Hodges graduated with a Doctorate in Pharmacy from TTUHSC School of Pharmacy in 2001. Upon graduation, Dr. Hodges was awarded a one-year fellowship with Eli Lilly where he served as a liaison between the FDA and the Lilly Regulatory Affairs team. After completing his fellowship, he developed telehealth training courses and lectures for hospice pharmacy practitioners focusing on the appropriate use of compound medications for patients receiving end of life care.
In 2007, Dr. Hodges purchased a compounding-only pharmacy called Innovation Compounding which focused on treatment for hospice patients, men’s health, women’s health, animal health, and wellness therapies.
